How Kordiam Balances Complexity and Simplicity
New Story Card and Story Templates
At Editorial Days 2025, Maike Froning, Customer Success and Product Manager at Kordiam, shared how our product is evolving to meet one of the newsroom’s most persistent challenges, managing growing complexity without slowing down daily work.
As Maike explained, the needs of editors and reporters often diverge. Editors rely on comprehensive data to plan across multiple platforms. Reporters, by contrast, want to update a story quickly and keep moving. Kordiam is built to meet both expectations. Our editorial planning tool aims to surface detail where it adds value and stay out of the way when it doesn’t.
In her presentation, Maike walked through the redesign of Kordiam’s story card, which brings a clearer structure to planning while reducing visual clutter. She also previewed upcoming features like interim save, auto-refresh, AI-assisted data extraction, and customizable story templates.
These changes aren’t just interface improvements, they reflect our broader goal: helping newsrooms handle complexity with confidence, while giving users the clarity and control they need.
Whether you’re in a planning role or reporting in the field, the updates shared here are designed to support the way your team works.
