What is Kordiam?
Kordiam is a cloud-based application that helps our customers coordinate editorial processes.
The focus is on planning and coordination workflows whereas established content management systems (CMSs) are mainly used for handling and publishing content.
Kordiam covers mainly these three functional areas:
- Content planning across any number of platforms
- Management of editorial appointments such as press conferences
- Coordination of internal as well as external staff
Is Kordiam a Content Management System?
Kordiam is not a content management system (CMS).
A CMS' purpose is to allow you to create and handle content and to publish it on a website or on other platforms.
Kordiam handles the planning, metadata and other information related to the content, not the publishing step of the workflow.
Using Kordiam's API you can however, connect Kordiam to any number of content management systems (or other systems).
Who uses Kordiam?
Kordiam is being used by a very broad range of media and non-media companies in about a dozen countries worldwide. The number of users per account ranges from a small newsroom, to more than a thousand users in aggregate with the biggest single newsroom using Kordiam counting over 1,600 users.
Our customers mainly come from these industries:
- News industry (online & print): Kordiam was initially designed for the news industry and many of our customers are editorial teams, both large and small who focus on regional, national and international news coverage.
- Magazine & specialty publishers: After several years, more and more magazine and specialty publishers began approaching us. Today we are happy to work with these teams and create features that fit within their specific workflows.
- Communications departments: Comms teams use Kordiam to plan both internally- and externally-focused digital content.
- Broadcasters: Kordiam has recently expanded to provide content planning for broadcasters looking for a tool to help with their digital news workflows.
