What’s New and Next for Kordiam Integrations
From deeper connections with CMS platforms to AI-driven workflows, Kordiam continues to enhance its integration landscape to better support newsrooms. During Editorial Days 2025, Robert Dönges, Partner and Integration Manager, shared a range of updates highlighting where integration work is happening across the platform.
Purple (Sprylab)
The CMS Purple, developed by Berlin-based Sprylab and built on WordPress, has maintained a basic integration with Kordiam for over two years. That integration is now being broadened to support global export, giving newsrooms more flexibility in their publishing workflows.
To support this, Kordiam has implemented automatic mapping for user-defined fields between WordPress channels and Kordiam.
API-Based Data Delivery
Kordiam is preparing to support API-based data delivery as part of its ongoing effort to modernize content exchange workflows. One example is STT, the Finnish news agency, which currently delivers event data via FTPS for two of its Scandinavian clients.
As STT transitions to a new internal system, the integration will shift to an API-based connection, allowing for faster, more flexible data transfer.
Labrador
Labrador, a CMS from Norway, is the next platform Kordiam plans to integrate with. Development will begin in collaboration with a mutual customer, a local newspaper in Denmark. Labrador is also used alongside Aptoma’s print automation tool, a setup familiar to many Scandinavian newsrooms.
Kordiam’s goal is to deliver a seamless and reliable connection that fits into this existing ecosystem and supports newsroom workflows from planning through to production.
CUE (Stibo DX)
Kordiam already supports an integration with the CMS CUE, developed by Stibo DX. To meet the evolving needs of a German-speaking CUE user group, an additional integration is being developed by an external provider.
This work builds on the existing integration between CUE and Kordiam and is designed to align more closely with specific editorial workflows identified by that user group.
Bold CMS (Fiare)
Bold CMS, a CMS developed in India and distributed in Europe by Fiare of Finland, is in the early stages of integration planning. Fiare has finalized its integration concept and produced a prototype, though full implementation has not yet begun.
AI Assistant
Kordiam is preparing to embed the AI assistant directly into the input mask of the content tab. This feature will make it easier for users to access AI tools as part of their daily workflow.
WoodWing
Kordiam currently supports WoodWing Studio through an integration originally developed by Qonqord, WoodWing’s former distributor. Since WoodWing acquired Qonqord earlier this year, the company now plans to further develop or expand that integration directly.
Discussions are in progress, and Kordiam is working closely with the WoodWing team to ensure the solution continues to meet newsroom needs.
We also support an integration with WoodWing Assets, which remains unchanged and continues to offer streamlined access to media content within the Kordiam platform.
TYPO3
There is increasing interest in connecting Kordiam with the open-source CMS TYPO3. While this is not yet scheduled for active development, it is under consideration for the midterm.
Drupal and WordPress
Kordiam continues to refine its existing integrations with Drupal and WordPress. These updates are driven by direct customer feedback, which plays a central role in improving the user experience.
Model Context Protocol
Kordiam is also exploring the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a new open standard designed to connect large language models with editorial tools and data sources. This protocol creates a standard way for AI models to receive relevant context, similar to how a USB connector links devices.
This is an early-stage initiative, and Kordiam is inviting collaboration and input from interested partners.
Looking Ahead
As this integration roadmap makes clear, Kordiam is focused on helping newsrooms stay flexible, connected, and ready for what’s next. From practical CMS improvements to emerging AI standards, every initiative is shaped by the goal of streamlining workflows and empowering editorial teams to do their best work.
For organizations working with these systems or planning new integrations, now is the right time to connect with Kordiam’s team and help shape what comes next.
